What is Form DIR-6?

In DIR6 is the details to be filed about the changes made in any information that DIN/DPIN contains. 

For Example Changes in the

  • Director’s Name,
  • Address,
  • Email-ID,
  • Phone number,
  • Appearance,
  • Nationality,
  • Educational Qualification, 
  • Gender, etc.

What is DIN?

Director Identification Number is mandatory for all the directors of a company whether existing or new. It is an eight-digit Unique Identification Number allotted to all directors. It has lifetime validity.

What is DPIN?

DPIN refers to a Designated Partner Identification Number.

A designated partner of an LLP is eligible to obtain designated partner identification number DPIN. DPIN cannot be obtained for legal artificial entities like Companies, OPC, etc.

DIR 6 -Process of filing Form

The details are required to be provided in the form are the following.

  • Select the types of change made in the form as mentioned below:
  • Name of director/ designated partners
  • Date of birth
  • Voters Identity card number Driving license
  • Email ID/ Mobile
  • Photograph of Director/ Designated Partner
  • Aadhaar number
  • Father’s Name
  • Gender
  • Passport Number
  • Permanent residential address
  • Present residential address
  • Residential Status
  • Nationality
  • Driving license number

The respective fields get enabled on the basis of the option selected.

The mobile number and email ID is compulsory.

Attachment to the form:

  1. PAN card copy
  2. Depending upon the field selected in point 2 the supporting document is required to be attached.

The documents should be attested by the Chartered Accountant or the Company Secretary or the Cost Accountant, in whole-time practice and shall also contain self-attestation.

The Form should be digitally certified by a chartered accountant or cost accountant or company secretary.

The following are the attachments that need to be mandatorily filed in all cases:

Proof of change in particulars

Proof of Identity of director/ designated partner

Passport is a mandatory requirement for proof in the case of foreign nationals.

Form DIR-6- Intimation of any change in particulars of Director to the Central Government

E-Form DIR-6 is required to be filed pursuant to Rule 12 of the Companies Rules, 2014.

The time limit for filing: Within 30 days of the change in particulars.

Any change(s) in particulars stated in eForm DIR-3 shall be intimated to the MCA with a period of 30 days by a director having an approved DIN.
